"A day in the Life of a Pumpkin"

Say ello to my little friend! (you have to say it like Al Pacino in Scar face)

We wanted to let everyone out there know that we had a happy Halloween and hope that you all had a great one! As you can see, we started a halloween tradition of picking out the perfect calabasa (pumpkin) and transforming it into 'Patty the pirate.' You might be asking yourself how did "Patty" come into existence, and if you didn't, well we are going to tell you anyway.

Patty started out as the perfect midsized pumpkin which Meghann masterfully picked out of the Wal-Mart, "every pumpkin for $5" bin. We even bought the handy dandy plastic set of tools to aid us in our endeavor.

Even though we scraped all the insides out of Patty, remarkably he didn't feel thing. We then began the process of poking, jabbing, and cutting until we had the bestest Halloween Jack-O-Lantern this side of the Mississippi!

We carved the pumpkin on the Monday before Halloween, FHE :), so that everyone knows how scary it is to live with Daniel. In fact, did you know that he dances while he cleans??? Yeah, Meg didn't know either but... she still loves him!

So, beginning this Halloween, we have created another tradtion of our own...hucking the pumpkin off of the third story!

While we know that we will not always be living on the third floor, we will however continue to smash our own pumpkins.

*Note to parents*
Meghann felt so bad when she hurled the pumpkin onto the grass below where people walk, she shortly went down and cleaned it up.

Conference Weekend

Yeah Conference Weekend!!!

Yes as you can tell, we were able to attend conference this past weekend, the Sunday morning session to be more specific. We had tickets on the plaza level and it was the closest Daniel has ever been!! It was also a special time learning that the Kansas City area will be getting a Temple! We also found out from Jason that the Temple will be in the Liberty Stake, shoal creek area in MISSOURI! (sorry Kansas)

We were also very blessed to spend the weekend with Meghann's parents. Daniel was very excited because he was able to spend all day Friday walking from store to store as Meghann and Cheryl paraded in their new threads. Daniel also learned a life lesson from Jerry when in the Gap store. When asked how to maintain enthusiasm during countless, "Does this look good on me?" Jerry, with his head tilted back against the wall, replies, "just take a nap and all will be fine." Wise words from a man with such experience.

So, after another two or three stores Daniel decides to implement such tactics. To his deteriment, and the fact that he doesn't like to take naps, he was forced to purchase Pac-Man and play it on his phone. Thank goodness for those little applications you can buy on your phone!

Shopping and pedicures aside, we were very excited to see Mom and Dad Furnell, and have the opportunity to spend the weekend with them! All was good and fun until the time came to take them back to the airport. That's when the fountains began to flow. Daniel never likes to see his woman cry and it seems to always happen when we say good bye. On a side note... it only took Mom and Dad Furnell 13 mins. to get through that notorious Salt Lake Security ;)
Thanks for the great weekend!

The first day of Intramurals

In that old spirit of taking a picture on the first day of school; we took one of Daniel on his first day of Intramural sports at BYU-I. I mean come on, what does he have to look forward too now that he is not in school anymore? Anyways, you can kinda see that he did have a full head of hair, BYU-I made him cut it to play. :(

But on the bright side we were able to partake in the festivities of the annual Jensen Elise Tracy Birthday Party!!! Both sets of grandparents were able to make it and her most favoritist Uncle Daniel and favoritist Aunt Meghann were there. Plus we had the most decadent fun-fetti cup cakes that have ever graced the earth and Jensen was loving them.

Isn't she a cutie?
