Wallinwood Ave

Ok so here's the house!!! Isn't it cute? Now that we've taken care of the three blind mice (that's what I call them) we've really settled into this place. The entire house is 3 bedroom, 2 bath. I'll post pics of the baby's room once it's finished and we just use the spare as an office...boring.

So here it is...Darling :)

Well there ya go! Our new home!!!

Mickey?

So we're in our "new" house. We moved from renting a one bedroom to renting a 3 bedroom house for when Baby T arrives. My excitement could not be contained! The added space, backyard and charm of an old house was all I could talk about...until we were greeted by some unwanted house guests.

I wish it was Mickey...but it's not. A distant relative if you will.
If you're a little slow, it's mice...we have MICE!

If the dead mouse we found in the basement or the traps set up in the attic didn't tip us off, Sadie would get up several times in the middle of the night and pace the room, growling at the walls and scratch at the baseboards. I originally thought some paranormal activity was going on. Turns out it was just some wee mice taunting her. Also, it didn't take long for one to find it's way into my cupboard and raid my Ghirardelli chocolate (fatty). All food has since been locked up in glass/plastic containers.

After talking to our lovely landlord who admitted that "yes, mice are here" I went into panic mode. Was it one mouse, a small family or a scene from Ratatouille?

Either way...one, two or a hundred were no longer welcome here. So I issued a full on mice war! I enlisted Daniel and his buddies to wage war on our furry friends. Some peanut butter and traps got these grown men more excited then the swim suit issue of Sports Illustrated! By the end of the night we caught 3 blind mice (I don't know if they were really blind).

Since then, we've plugged up any visible holes and left out some traps but no more have wandered into the death zone. Sadie has also been sleeping through the night which is comforting. Either we got rid of our small family or we have some angry relatives plotting against us right now. There's a thought...

So what should we do with our little family we caught? Mousterpiece anyone?

More on the new house to come!!! Maybe next post will be ghosts :)

Ingrid Michaelson

So for no special reason other than I'm in love with her, Daniel and I went to see Ingrid Michaelson in concert in Detroit! The venue sold out in just a few days and they had to relocate to a larger one and it still sold out. In fact, she said her entire tour is sold out as of now. You rock Ingrid!

The crabby "ticket-taker" wouldn't let us bring in our new camera because it has a detachable lens, gay. But I got over it once the show started. She did SO GOOD! Awesome voice, awesome band, just pure awesomeness (and funny too).

I'm actually surprised how many people here in Michigan have no idea who she is. In fact, not one person I've told here about her concert knew who she was. That just proves that most people still listen to crappy music. C'mon people, turn off Black Eyed Peas and listen to a real singer/songwriter!

Anyway, if you DON'T know who she is, here's a video of her newest single on her new album Human Again. But she has five albums total and their all excellent :)

I love live music!

Sadie's 1st Birthday

Yesterday, Sadie turned 1 year old! I kept calling her "Birthday Girl" all day long, but she would just look at me lol. When Dan got home from work we had a mini old-fashioned birthday party for our baby girl. Yes, we are those people that throw parties for our pets. We had party hats, sang Happy Birthday and gave her presents!

You can't tell, but I really think she liked it lol. Except the party hat. She wanted nothing to do with it...

We should have done it a while ago, but in honor of her first birthday, we finally got her some doggie tags. We never thought she needed them while living in an apt, but now that we're moving to a house with a yard...if she were to get out now they know where to bring her back!

We showered with lots of kisses and gave her a brand new bone to demolish, which it was in about an hour. Our baby girl is no longer a baby...

Happy Birthday Sadie!!!
