New Years Eve...at last

I realize New Years was almost a month ago, but I thought if I got the post in before February hit I was good. I had a minor delay in pictures. You know who you are...(cough, Andrea lol).

After suggesting that my friend Andrea should have a New Years party (thanks again Andrea!!!) we had a great time ringing in the new year. We spent the evening playing pictionary. A very competitive game of pictionary! But oh so much fun! I forget how much I love game nights. I wish we had them more often!

I think this was Dan trying to draw Hannah Montana lol

I got stuck with the show Terra Nova? What the crap?

I devoured an entire bowl of spinach artichoke dip and polished off a bottle of sparkling cider...by myself. It was fantastic. And we celebrated the new year with our Michigan possy all while Norah snoozed away up the stairs on the bed. Amazing.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

PS. I don't do New Years Resolutions...their dumb and they get broken anyway.

8 Months

So our little babe is now 8 months old! And she is such a stinker! A cute stinker but still...

Let's see, she loves to sit and play with her toys. But only if someone is sitting right next her. She's doing this fun new thing when I get up and leave the room she screeeeeeeams and sobs. It's adorable. Not. I'm quickly adapting my mother's way of thinking when I was little, "if you're not bleeding from the head, you're fine."

She loves, loves, loves FOOOOOOD! For a little while there she wasn't too interested in solids, but I knew she'd come around when she was ready and now she loves it. As soon as I put her in her high chair she knows she's gonna get something and she starts squealing and flopping her arms and legs around lol.

Not crawling yet. Some moms look at me like, "what, she's not crawling yet?" And you know what I want to say to them? At least my kid doesn't look like Shrek. She is getting close though! She has started to go from a sitting position to her belly. But once she's on her belly she's like, "uhhh a little help here?"

Definitely, the newest thing are the noises she makes. She like to scream, squeal, screech, squawk...it's unreal. Sometimes I think it's adorable. Other times I'm like, "I CAN'T HEAR MYSELF THINK!" I even captured a little video during her 8 month photoshoot as proof...

And those squeals were NOTHIN!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I know Christmas wasn't on a Sunday, but here is Norah in her Christmas dress. I was kind of obsessed with this dress. I scoured for the perfect Holiday dress and found this one at Gap (naturally lol).
SOOOO CUTE!

So we woke up Xmas morning at my parents house and opened our stockings and Santa presents. Norah got a new sweater, headband and Ugg boots from Santa! We need to work on the opening part a bit for next year...
Dan got a 3D Blu-Ray player and I got a sewing Machine!!!

After Norah got ready in her new Christmas outfit, we headed down to Daniel's parents where we spent Christmas day with them. Norah opened more presents where she got a beautiful porcelain doll from Grandma Tracy.
We ate Christmas dinner and then saw Les Miserables (best movie ever)!

We had a fantastic Christmas! Couldn't ask for anything more. Just spending time with family is all we really look forward to since we don't live near any.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Eve

First Christmas's are HUGE as a parent. You want everything to be perfect for your little one and make sure you capture every single expression. I tried this...But after the first, oh I don't know, 100 snap shots...I thought I'd just relax and enjoy this Holiday season, our first Christmas as a family of three.

Per Furnell tradition, we spent Xmas Eve at my Grandma's in Sedalia, MO with aunts, uncles and cousins. We opened presents, ate ourselves sick (i don't regret one pound), and laughed at our silly selves. The most fun was seeing Norah interact with the family. These will be memories I soon won't forget.

Poking cousin Caleb, bonk bonk!

Giggling with (second?) cousin Libby

Opening presents with Aunt Stephanie

Playing with cousin Avery

Cuddling with Grandpa Jerry

And my favorite...four generations:
Norah, Me, Grandpa, Great Grandma
