Happy Birthday Norah

Our not so little any more, Norah, turned two on Saturday!
To celebrate we threw a fun party with all her "little" friends.

We had a SPRINKLE themed party.
All things SPRINKLES! We were "SPRINKLING" Norah with love on her Birthday ;)

After lunch, opening presents and playing for a bit it was time to sing Happy Birthday and dig into the treat table of SPRINKLED goodies. Someone had an "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to" attitude about it.

But after Grandma helped her blow out the candles...

She was ALL smiles!!!

We had such a great time, Norah especially. A big thank you to everyone who came to spend her special day with us. That means you too Grandma Furnell! I have a feeling every birthday will take a tiny piece of my heart away each year.

Tulip Festival

Each year Holland, Michigan hosts an annual Tulip Festival. We've lived here for three years and this is the first year we've been able to go! The town streets are lined with these picture perfect tulips as well as a park with groves and groves of beauty.

There's also parades, a carnival, street vendors, shopping, mostly of the dutch origins. We did toured the tulips, did some window shopping but skipped the carnival. All I could see was spending $50 for Norah to ride the carousel over and over and over... Hoy!

But overall, our day was lovely and are looking forward to adopting the tulip festival as a Michigan family tradition.

On a side note, if you were in the mood for some tasty "fatballs" you missed out!

We, however, were not in the mood for "fatballs" so opted for a cozy pizza joint in Holland. It hit the spot!
Norah was in agreement.

6 Years and Ingrid

Today we celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary with Daniel away on business in Canada. But he was a sweet husband and had flowers delivered to me while he was away.

Our anniversary present to each other was a few weeks earlier when we went to see Ingrid Michaelson in concert in Detroit. We actually saw her there exactly 2 years ago when I was pregnant with Norah.

I'd be okay if she came every two years. Love her shows!

Welp, 6 years with this goofy man of mine and it's been an adventure! Besides all the reasons why wives love their husbands (loving, caring, provides for the family, bla bla bla...)

I love him also because he doesn't say anything when I've gone two months without dusting. Because he bakes the worlds best chocolate chip cookies. Because he loves all things Disney. Because he doesn't mind leftovers. And because he lets me openly admit I'm in love with another woman, the wonderfully talented Ingrid Michaelson :)

Happy Anniversary to us!
