Christmas Vacation to Missouri!!! (finally...)

The much anticipated Christmas Blog is finally here!

Let's begin our Christmas festivities with Christmas morning when Jerry and Cheryl opened one of their Christmas presents from Santa. We (Meg and Dan) think that Santa was giving this present as a gag gift but after the look on Mama Furnell's face, we now know it to be something that she was hoping for!! No more slipping out of that wet bathtub. We don't want any broken hips! (or ankles)

Back at the Tracy residence, we were all filled with the Christmas spirit! Meg and Mom decorated cookies whilst Daniel would sneak behind and scarf down the good-looking ones. After the fifth one Daniel was down for the count! Seeing Adam and Karen over the break was fun too. Thanksgiving AND Christmas...such a treat :) And prego Karen was also looking very radiant!

Santa got Daniel a new Blu-Ray player to go along with all of his Blu-Rays (0). Meghann was good enough to let him buy his first two on Amazon. The first one being Sleeping Beauty (to begin the Disney collection). The second one, Transformers. No not the cartoon animated feature, but the one where the transformers really came down from outer space and fought on top of the Hoover Damn! you know the 'Real' Transformers movie.

Santa didn't like how Meghann would always go to school in her spring coat during those frigid Rexburg winter mornings, so he got her a Down Coat from Eddie Bauer that will keep her warm all the way down to 0 degrees!! Hurrah for goose feathers! The new coat doesn't allow the frosty wind in either, Double bonus!

After almost 6 months of not seeing Jasper and nagging Daniel about getting a dog, Meghann was at rest and soaked up having a dog around for the holidays. Meghann is convinced that Mama Cheryl will get tired of Jasper and send him to live with us. Doubtful, very doubtful. Nonetheless, she had her fun with the little furball.

And to go with our last post. This is our after Christmas card photo hoping that everyone had a magical holiday season full of love and laughter!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE TRACY'S!

'Tis The Season...

During this holiday season Meghann and Daniel would like each and every one that is dear to us, Happy Holidays. We wish that we were able to spend it with each of you and hope that your holiday season is everything you wish it to be.

This being our first Christmas together we began by setting a few ground rules. Rule number one came from Daniel: No decorating of the house or playing of Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Number two came from Meghann: All decorations will be of the Disney variety. Number three was mutual: Meghann makes cookies, Christmas or not, on the first Sunday of the month.

Thanksgiving passed and on the 1st we decided to start the Tracy Tradition of picking out the perfect Christmas tree. We packed into the car, put on the Christmas tunes, bundled up and made our way to the place where Christmas trees reside (Wal-Mart). We rushed into the store and scavenged up and down each aisle in search of the perfect tree. After 15 mins of searching and asking the worker to search the back room we decided that the most perfect tree was right in front of us. Daniel fancied for the fiber optic tree but Meghann vetoed that idea and we purchased a 3 foot imitation Colorado Pine. Daniel is realizing that during the Christmas season Meghann is in charge. We rushed home and were bursting with the holiday spirit trying to select the optimal spot in the living room. We decided that it would look best in the corner (the only corner unoccupied in our living room). While Daniel assembled the base of the tree Meghann put on the most appropriate music and in just seconds we were blasting some good-ole Mariah Carey Christmas. One by one the ornaments were carefully hung and as the last Disney ornament (thanks Furnells for the Disney decorations) was placed on the tree, we could swear that we heard James Stewart (from It’s a Wonderful Life) shouting, “Merry Christmas!” It was the end to the best family home evening ever!

We Tracys from Rexburg would like to wish all a Merry Christmas and hope that you have the best holidays! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Daniel wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas all by himself! He tried to get Meghann to jam along as well but she was a bit camera shy. It is hard to think that Meghann is camera shy, ok she really isn't, she just wanted to let Daniel shine in the spotlight :) Anyone willing to offer him a record deal?

Real Salt Lake vs. New York RedBulls!!!

This is our Week End Warrior edition! Last week we traveled down to lovely Sandy, Utah in search of the MLS playoff matchup of Real Salt Lake vs. New York Red Bulls. It was a memorial game which, unfortunately, Real Salt Lake lost but we really had the time of our lives. Real Salt Lake outshot the Redbulls 24 to 8 and hit the post three times. Remember the movie Mighty Ducks and the triple deik?? "A quarter inch and it would have gone in." That is what it felt like all night long. It was an exciting game and we got to share it with 20,008 fans in the brand new Rio Tinto Stadium. After the game we all talked about how it was probably the most exciting sports game that Daniel and Meghann have ever been too! We even got to eat out at Meghann’s favorite sushi restaurant Happy Sumo. We were lucky enough to even have Meghann sport a soccer jersey. Anyways, we had a fun time and had the company of cousin Mike and some friends from Rexburg, Jordon and Kristen, to help us route on Real Salt Lake.

Ron and Denise let us stay the night at their house (thanks so much) and Daniel shnuckered Ron to staying up till two in the morning playing some hearts. Let it be known that Mike is still considered to be playing in the, “Blue Bird Club.”
This week was uneventful other than Daniel working everyday and Meghann going to class. But this upcoming week we have some big plans. Thanksgiving will be fun because we are going to see Daniel and Meghann's favorite niece on the Tracy side and having a feast with the Johnsons. Then on Friday we will be heading back down to Utah to meet up with Adam and Karen. Meghann is excited to give Karen and the expected new-born her little contribution. Daniel is excited to get out and play some football and totally annihilate the Hill boys. Karen, if you are reading this, you should tell them to take some pain pills before they suit up!!
Anyways, that has been our lives for the last two weeks. Stay tuned!
